Fall Bucket List

I am going to try to do as many of these as I can. Will you join me by making your own fall bucket list? You can steal all of these ideas or make up your own. Let me know if you are going to do any of these.

Be thankful

I love fall. I have never been more excited for apple picking, leaves falling and crisp cold weather! What is your favorite thing about the autumn? Here in upstate NY, summer is slowly fading away as the crisp weather is working its way in. The leaves have just started to fall and I have been forced to turn the heat on in the house every now and then.

I’m not sure what it is about this season that is so attractive to me, is it the colors? the fact that I love wearing jackets and sweaters?  I think the thing that I love the most about the fall is I feel as though it is God’s reminder to me to be thankful and content with what He has given me. Thankful for the new season, thankful for His promise that winter will come, but that Spring is always around the corner, and thankful that in all the seasons, seasons of life and weather, He is always here with me.

So, even though upstate NY is having a hard time making way for fall, my house is definitely not struggling with it. I have added some pictures for you as inspiration for your own house as you welcome fall in and all its beauty.

Just remember that if fall is not your season and winter is not your thing, spring and summer will always come. Genesis 8:22  “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

Fall Candle Holder

Image

Learn how to make this cute stick candle holder

What you need:

- A candle holder

- Garden pruners

- Super Glue

- Sticks

- Jute (optional)

Image

Gather and cut your sticks with the garden pruners to about the same height as your candle holder.

Image

Using your super glue, put glue on the branch and hold it onto the candle holder until it is stuck. Make sure you figure out the “flattest” side of the branch before you glue it onto the candle holder.

Now work your way around the candle until there are branches all the way around the candle holder.

If you want to, you can add a jute bow around the sticks (shown below)

Gettin’ Crafty in the Craft Room

Image

I bought this peg board from Home Depot that measures 24 inches wide by 48 inches high.

Image

I spray painted it yellow and added these hooks that I also bought at Home Depot!

I then added my craft stuff and there ya have it, hanging wall storage with easy access to everything that you need!
